Heather Gates, PA-C

Heather Gates PA-C received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. She then completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Carbondale, IL in 2011 where she served as the Physician Assistant Organization President. Heather has been practicing as a dermatology physician assistant since graduation. She previously practiced in Illinois and Iowa before moving to Florida in 2016. Heather practices medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology with a particular passion and intensive training on laser and light-based procedures. Heather also has extensive experience with cosmetic injectables including Botox and Fillers.

Heather is a Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). Through her diplomate fellowship she has completed additional hours of rigorous training in the field of dermatology that is above and beyond the requirements for dermatology physician assistants. Heather is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (FSDPA), the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants (FAPA), the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), and the International Dermoscopy Society (IDS).

Heather is very active within the Florida medical community. Heather serves on the Board of Directors as President of the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (FSDPA). Additionally, Heather serves as a Liaison to the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants (FAPA) Board of Directors consulting them on issues and legislation affecting dermatology physician assistants in the State of Florida. Heather also lectures at conferences and teaches general dermatology and cosmetic workshops to train and educate other physician assistants in the field of dermatology.

In her spare time Heather enjoys spending quality time with her family- her husband, Drew, their two beautiful daughters, and three adorable dogs. In her "spare time" Heather is a cheerleading coach for her daughters' Buffalo Stampeders competitive cheer team. Her family also enjoys spending time at Disney, Universal, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs. Go Cubs Go!
